Acceptable Use & Anti-Harassment Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2025 · Kudosly · kudoslyapp.com
Kudosly is a place for praise in public — and public praise only works when everyone in the plaza feels safe. This policy sets the ground rules. It applies to every board, card, comment, leaderboard, and rewards catalog on Kudosly, and it is part of our Terms of Service.
1. The golden rule
A kudo should be something the recipient is happy to see pinned on a wall. If you would not say it to someone's face at a party, do not put it on a card.
2. Prohibited content and behavior
- Backhanded "compliments" — praise-shaped sarcasm, irony, or digs ("brave of you to finally finish that").
- Harassment, bullying, or targeted mockery of any person or group, on or off a board.
- Discriminatory content based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual, violent, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate content.
- Manipulating points or leaderboards (self-dealing, vote rings, sock-puppet accounts).
- Stocking the rewards catalog with cash, cash equivalents, or anything unlawful — points redeem for catalog rewards only and are never money.
- Scraping boards, probing other organizations' data, or abusing the API.
3. Moderation tools — included in every plan
Every Kudosly board ships with moderation built in, on every plan:
- Report button on every card and comment, visible to all members.
- Admin review queue where reported items can be approved, edited, hidden, or removed.
- Member controls — mute, suspend, or remove a member from a board or the organization.
- Board-level settings — turn off leaderboards, hide point totals, or require pre-approval for cards.
- Exportable records so organizations can document and resolve incidents properly.
4. Enforcement
Organization admins are the first line of moderation and are expected to act on reports promptly. Where Kudosly becomes aware of violations — through reports escalated to us, automated safeguards, or legal process — we may remove content, suspend accounts, or, for repeated or severe violations, terminate the organization's account. Content that is unlawful will be reported to the appropriate authorities where required.
5. Reporting to Kudosly
If your organization's admins do not resolve a problem, or the problem involves the admins themselves, contact us using the details on our website with the subject "Safety report". Include the board name and, if possible, links to the content. We acknowledge safety reports within one business day.
6. No retaliation
Nobody may be punished — on a board or off it — for reporting a violation in good faith or for declining to participate in recognition. Participation in Kudosly is always optional; a fiesta you are forced to attend is not a fiesta.
7. Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version always lives on this page.
